Hello,

I'm a new member from the USA. I'm hoping this forum can help me get past a roadblock. I'm researching my great grandmother who, according to family records, was born on 14 Apr 1882 in Kristinestad (Kristiinankaupunki ), Österbotten, Finland. That is all the information I have about her, I do not know her parents' names, this branch stops with her.

I recently discovered an archive of church records for this location and found this page:

https://www.sukuhistoria.fi/sshy/kirjat/Kirkonkirjat/kristiinankaupungin_maaseurakunta/rippikirja_1873-1882_mko40-46/7.htm

This looks like it might be my g-grandmother's family. I'm interested in hearing, from those more familiar with these records, if this is the correct assumption. I'm also interested in learning what the columns indicate.

Thank you for any input you have.

Yes,
I think you are right. The last name on the page is Ida Adelina. She was born in April 1882.
“Dr” in front of her name means daughter. So, her father seems to be Henrik Eriksson, born 10/24 1848, and her mother is Anna Kaisa Hansdotter, born 12/30 1854.

The columns of this page are: Name, Date of Birth, Place of Birth, Came from, Vaccination (I suppose). Then 9 columns about reading skills and related things. On the right side is attendance at the Lord’s Communion for years 1873-1882. Then remarks and departure (for most it means date of death).

Is anyone able to translate (or even read?) the remarks and departure for Henrick Erik Henricksson (father of second family on the page)?

Some of the remarks could be: "... bet. t. äkt. d. 27/2 74...".  "t. äkt." could be "till äktenskap" (=to marriage).
According to the church records Henrik and Anna Kaisa got married on March 29th 1874, so as this date February 27th is about one month earlier, my guess is it could have something to do with the preparation of the marriage.
