My grandfather Frank William Soderman was born 27.9.1890 in Yttermalax on Malm #18 [/b] to parents:
Johan Johansson Soderman (7.4.1850) & Anna Sofia Johan-Eriksdotter Malm (6.4.1847)
Other children of Johan & Anna Sofia Soderman were Johannes b.11.12.1875 on Svenn #7; Amanda Lovisa b.15.8.1877 on Svenn #7, (Karl)Magnus b.8.9.1879 on Svenn #7, Brita Stina b.15.8.1882 on Svenn #7, Anna Elisabeth b.17.9.1888 on Malm #18. So they moved from Svenn #7 farm to Malm #18 farm before 1888. Also, in 1896 they left the Lutheran Church in Malax and joined Amossa Baptist Congregation.
Johan Johansson's parents (my 2xgreat-grandparents were Johan Israelsson Soderman b.3.6.1828 in Overmalax on farm Bro. #9 and Karolina Wilhelmsdotter Finne, b.20.12.1828 on farm Finne in Mustasaari.
By 1915, all except Magnus had gone to U.S. (Chicago & Superior, Wisconsin & maybe Johannes to Gardiner, Mass).
Magnus remained in Finland and moved to Vasa where I think there might still be descendents.
If anyone has a connection to this Soderman family, and knowledge of Magnus's descendents, I would like very much to hear from you.
